January/ February

Unfortunately 2012 did not start well for Branbern. Micah sadly succumbed to cancer late in January, leaving us at the tender age of 5 years. In his brief time he managed to win 3 Royal Challenges in Adelaide plus many other noteable wins and his sweet nature touched the hearts of many people.

To make matters much worse, just recently Nigel died suddenly of bloat which is a major blow for us to lose our boy who has been the benchmark here in Sydney & arguably Australia wide over the last few years. He was a dog that raised the bar with so many results including Multiple All Breeds Best In Show, Best in Group awards, Runner Up Best in Show at the BMDCV Specialty in 2009, Dogzonline Pointscore winner for Bernese & No 5 in the Utility Group in 2009 and lets not forget no less than 5 Royal Challenges with 4 of those being Best of Breed wins at Sydney Royal in 5 years straight. He was a wonderful ambassador for Branbern and a lovely strong dog with a typical Branbern happy personality.

On a positive note 2012 should bring some new faces, one of these being Howard (
Branbern Howard I Know). Howard is an only child with a bold, cheeky temperament and lovely substance and structure, we look forward to how he and others develop over the rest of the year.
